Sunday mornings @ 10:00am

"My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you - I whom you have delivered."

-Psalm 71:23

Meet Jared, our Worship Director

Purpose & Vision

Worship is commonly mistaken as a means to some other end. It’s the first part of church that gets us warmed up for the sermon, right? Wrong!

Authentic worship itself is the goal. (John 4:24)

At The Rescue Church, the purpose of our worship is to encounter the sweet, redemptive, healing presence of Jesus. The worship team aims to lead by ”laying down our crowns” at His feet (Revelation 4:10-11) and recognizing God as everlasting and worthy of our highest praise.

No matter where God takes our church my vision is that we remain authentic in our worship, stay in pursuit of His presence, and stay in love with God like we were at our first encounter with Him.

what is Worship and what is it like on Sundays

Worship is the expression of reverence, adoration, honor, respect, devotion and/or highest praise to whomever - or whatever - someone prioritizes above all else in their life. And it’s not just with music and song.

We were made to worship, and we all worship something.

As Christians, we aim to choose King Jesus above everything else. Colossians 1:13 says that “all things have been created through Him and for Him” - that applies to our worship as well. Not because he needs it, but because we need it.

With this mindset, our mission each Sunday morning is to lay down the red carpet for the presence of God in our meeting place. This is so He might get our attention (Psalm 57:8), show us His love and power (Psalm 59:16), and prompt us to respond with free, authentic worship (Psalm 71:23).

Starting at 10:00am, we play instruments, sing songs, and pray - all so we can meet privately with our creator and savior, Jesus. You are free to raise your hands, dance and clap, or simply sit quietly while you listen. God speaks to us all differently!

Q&A with Jared

WHO is your favorite bible character? (can't say Jesus!)

WHAT is the best advice anyone has ever given you?

Your family is your greatest ministry. Make them a priority. (From my dad, and not really in words.)

WHEN does your head hit the pillow?

Usually around 10 (I’m writing this at 10:43pm though). After my boys go to bed, I like to extend my quiet time as long as I can.

WHERE is your favorite place to relax/recharge?

Sitting at a piano in a quiet room with a pencil and paper.

WHY do you love living in the Pacific Northwest?

The green everywhere. I think we take it for granted around here - I know I do!

HOW do you like your eggs?

Poached, over toast. Avocado on top. Great, now I’m hungry.

Authentically encountering the sweet, redemptive, healing presence of Jesus.

We are always in search of willing, able, and servant- hearted musicians to add to our team. Even if you can’t commit to being scheduled regularly, our Worship Director, Jared Simon would love to talk with you about what God is prompting you to do with your talent.

Do you play an instrument and read chord sheets, do you sing? If yes, please download this application and connect with Jared.

Would you like to have your poetry considered as lyrics for a worship song?

If so, please contact Jared Simon, our Worship Director to discuss. He is eager to create more worship songs that originate in the hearts of our congregation. You can take credit or do it anonymously if you’d rather.
